Welcome to MTeM 2013
The 11th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MODERN TECHNOLOGIES IN MANUFACTURING
organized by the Department of Manufacturing Engineering (DME) – TU Cluj-Napoca, in co-operation with DME from Transylvania University of Brasov and Gh. Asachi University of Iasi
aaa• The MTeM Conference is regarded as a high-level ranking conference in the promotion of research and teaching in Manufacturing Engineering. It also serves as a forum to disseminate information to all branches of the manufacturing industries on the most recent and relevant innovations.
aaa• Being established 65 years ago, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca is the most important Transylvanian Technical University, with its 9 faculties and 53 departments.
aaa• The first MTeM Conference was organized in September 1991 and other previous MTeM Conferences were held in 1993, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011.
aaa• Each university aims to have and organize its own conference and sometime there are more conferences organized in the same period, which makes it difficult for scientists to choose where they should go to. That is why, we decided to organize this year jointly the MTeM 2013 Conference, as a co-operation between the Departments of Manufacturing Engineering from Cluj-Napoca, Brasov and Iasi. This co-operation aims to strengthen the AUIF Association (“Asociatia Universitară de Ingineria Fabricatiei”: http://www.eng.upt.ro/auif/index.php) and its AJME Journal (Academic Journal of Manufacturing Engineering), where more than 35 selected papers will be published: http://eng.upt.ro/auif/. The AJME Journal is indexed within the international databases: Scopus, IndexCopernicus International and Ulrich.
• All the papers will be reviewed by the members of the International Scientific Committee.
• Hope to meet you all in October 2013 at Cluj-Napoca!
Chairman of the MTeM Conference
Professor Nicolae Balc, Director of Manufacturing Engineering Department

The Conference will be held with the main support of the AMaTUC H2020 Project
